Earn a One Time Credit to Your Water Bill
 
 
Residents Can Earn a One-Time Credit to Water  Bills!
 
All you have to do is:
 
(1) Install a High Efficiency Toilet (HET) or a Water Smart Irrigation system at your residence within the District
 
(2) make an appointment for one of the District’s Inspectors to visit your residence to verify installation (will photograph as part of the verification process)
 
(3) provide a copy of the proof of purchase. Once all three steps are complete and the paperwork has been submitted to the District’s Billing office, you can earn a one-time credit to your water bill (see details below).

*$100.00 (one hundred dollars) for first toilet; if
completed by 2012.
*$75.00 (seventy five dollars) for second toilet; if
completed by 2012; and
*$50.00 (fifty dollars) for all subsequent toilets if
completed by January 1, 2012.

NO REBATES WILL BE OFFERED AFTER JANUARY 1, 2012

Smart Irrigation Systems: The typical single-family suburban household uses at least 50 percent of their water outdoors for irrigation. Some experts estimate that more than 50 percent of landscape water use goes to waste due to evaporation or runoff caused by overwatering.  A certified irrigation professional (click here to obtain a list of certified professionals near you) can design, install, maintain, or audit your system to ensure optimal efficiency using the proper amount of water to maintain a healthy landscape. Ask if your irrigation contractor is a WaterSense partner, which means he or she has been certified through a program that focuses on water efficiency. Install a Smart Irrigation System! Climate or soil moisture sensor-based “smart” controllers evaluate weather or soil moisture conditions, then calculate and automatically adjust the irrigation schedule to meet the specific needs of your landscape. Rain shutoff switches turn off your system in rainy weather and help compensate for natural rainfall. This inexpensive device can be retrofitted to almost any system. Install low-volume micro-irrigation for gardens, trees, and shrubs. Micro-irrigation includes drip (also known as trickle), micro-spray jets, micro-sprinklers, or bubbler irrigation to irrigate slowly and minimize evaporation, runoff, and overspray. Drip irrigation systems use between 20 to 50 percent less water than conventional in-ground sprinkler systems. They are also much more efficient than conventional sprinklers because no water is lost to wind, runoff, and evaporation. If your in-ground system uses 100,000 gallons annually, you could potentially save more than 200,000 gallons over the lifetime of a drip irrigation should you choose to install it. That adds up to savings of at least $1,150! Watch the clock. Water when the sun is low or down, winds are calm, and temperatures are cool—between the evening and early morning—to reduce evaporation. You can lose as much as 30 percent of water to evaporation by watering midday.
